During World War I, the impact of the poster as a means of communication was greater than at any other time during history. Courtesy of the Library of Congress’ invaluable collection of prints and photographs, we painstakingly color separated, and hand screen printed our favorite American World War I posters. These are not cheap inkjet prints, but hand made limited run silkscreen prints. We wanted to do these historical pieces of artwork justice, by reproducing them with care and pride.
About this print:
Originally a 1917 lithograph, this print shows an airplane casting a searchlight on the water, as a sailor on a small gun boat peers through binoculars. Produced by the Signal Corps USA and Committee on Public Information.
