This hand knotted wool vintage
Turkish Oushak rug features two connected stepped medallions filled with
rosettes, crosses, and eight-point stars. The double medallion is dotted with
two small flowers and two large-scale double spiked rose buds in an abrashed
brick red open field. A tree of life
graces each gray corner spandrel. It is enclosed with an inner wolf mouth
cartouche border and a rectilinear botanical outer border. The repetition of
shapes and motifs sprinkled throughout imbue the composition with a great deal
of visual interest and overall harmony. With its unique colors, linear design,
and lovely floral detailing, this handsome vintage Oushak rug would be a
welcoming and stylish addition to nearly any space.
